April Bookclub will be held at the Stoddard home on Wednesday April 19th at 7:30 pm. We will be discussing the book "The Screwtape Letters", an entertaining and sobering look at Satan's strategies to influence mortal beings. C.S. Lewis creates a series of letters between the master and his nephew who is learning the game.
There are 32 letters in the book, so as you read, decide 2 or 3 letters you'd like to review. The letter assignments will be posted on this blog (CanyonBookclub.blogspot.com) so check the left column on the blog to see which letters have been reserved and let Liz know which of the remaining you'd like to focus on. Even if you don't read the entire book, we'll have a most interesting discussion of strategies.
From Amazon: The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis is a classic masterpiece of religious satire that entertains readers with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life and foibles from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to "Our Father Below." At once wildly comic, deadly serious, and strikingly original, C.S. Lewis's The Screwtape Letters is the most engaging account of temptation—and triumph over it—ever written.
